Our goal is to give dedicated people—teachers, parents, staff, volunteers, and leaders—the tools they need to respond calmly and effectively when it matters most. Through personalized training and consulting, we offer practical programs in active shooter preparedness, school safety, workplace security, and crisis response. Everything we do is thoughtful, approachable, and designed to fit real-world situations.

At Apex, we’re helping everyday individuals, families, schools, businesses, and communities feel more prepared and confident in today’s world. Founded in 2022 after the heartbreaking events at Robb Elementary in Uvalde, Texas, our mission grew from a simple belief: with the right knowledge and training, ordinary individuals can make a real difference in keeping themselves and others safe.Founders John and Dave—bringing together decades of experience in federal and local law enforcement, military special operations, executive protection, physical security, and digital safety—saw that most safety training felt overwhelming, overly tactical, or disconnected from real life. We wanted to change that.

To make this training more accessible than ever, Apex Defend developed a flexible online learning platform. Now, clients can build their skills at their own pace—anytime, anywhere—whether they’re at home, on the road, or between classes. It’s simple, straightforward, and focused on helping good people feel more secure and capable.

Our team is led by seasoned professionals with deep experience in federal and local law enforcement, where they’ve served in high-profile protective and investigative roles, implemented U.S. Secret Service-level security protocols, and managed complex tactical operations and emergency medical responses in real-world crisis situations.
